Since there these bags were to be used for "Storage, Organizing, Crafts, Travel", one would expect household duty / non-commercial usage.
I had just reviewed the 5×7 poly bags, so this was interesting comparison.
Pros:
– thickness as expected, consistent
– zip lock was similar to the 5×7" poly bags of the same manufacturer (but I expected a STRONGER zip lock due to the much larger volume) still it was OK
– holds water fine (but once you start applying pressure to the bag, it will leak slowly from the zip lock corners, OK)
– clarity (slight non-transparency / haze, OK)
– consistent production / handling good (not much in the way of folds or creases, notably different from the 5×7" bags)
Cons:
– (very minor) really would like the leading plastic edges to the zip lock to be offset slightly for easy separation, but at least they are not produced "stuck" together as some poly bags which requiring damp fingers or lots of pressure to separate.
Notes: both 10" sides were about actually 10.25" (you can accommodate 10×10" thin items easily)
Compared to the same manufacturer's 5×7 poly bags:
– same zip lock strength (but one would want a stronger one for the 10×10)
– less folds / creases on 10×10
– generally the same bag structurally, but overall strength does not scale up since they are generally made the same way
– the lead in plastic ends before the zip lock are larger on the 10×10, making it reasonably easy to separate them as compared to the 5×7 bags.
5 stars for generally good structural quality for household use
